So just show up at willis monday morning and you can hunt that week? Will you have to pay the fees? or just have the APH?

i think he is talking about the TPWD draw hunt, if thats the case and you're a walk on, you still have to buy the permit.

        How much are the permits?

The permit is 120.00 I think for 5 days of hunting. They have been seeing some good deer with some lite rut activity. Yes, this is standby for the draw hunt.

Permit fee for designated extended hunts is $130.00 now.
That still not bad for a five day hunt.

My buddy hunted this last week and saw a lot of nice deer all moving midday and rutting. Missed a big 12. I think I may try and make it out...

No kill? I am headed there in January, what type of stands did you use?

No kill, but some close calls. I used a hang-on stand with a climbing stand, but you can bring whatever you want. I am planning on going back for the Jan hunt, too. Only live 15 minutes away, so it's really convenient.

Meant to stay hang-in stand with climbing stick.
