This video was taken in Medina County next to the 777 Ranch. He came across the road at about 150 yards and I got about 5 second look before I grabbed the camera. It sure had a long body and tail...

It's a panther, I tell you. Take the video to TPWD or A&M or something. Course, the 5th of Forty Creek I just finished might have swayed my judgement!

Confirmed video evidence of a cat. Size and distance are the only things lacking.

I've always been on the bandwagon of pooh-poohing panther sightings. Still am. But just for the record, and only because I happened to be in Court that day, I know of a cougar that was killed in south Liberty county last year. The Judge that I worked for ordered that the grandfather, who owned the cat and kept it in a pen, could not visit his grandchildren if he had the cat on the premises. So grandpa just LET THE CAT GO. It wandered around for about a year with several sightings until a good ole boy happened to shoot it. Lots of stories going around here about that cat.

                    So ................................... anything's possible.

There is not such a thing as a "black panther", if it was a cat, it would be a jaguar, which have been slowly moving in from south america/mexico. “Panther” is just an old general term that comes from the Panthera animal grouping name, and is sometimes used to describe leopards, jaguars, and pumas.

I'm going say black house cat but he sure looks like a big one. I could see how under the right conditions somebody could mistake it for A 'Black Panther'.
