it is...the powers that be should just purge adds that are of a certain vintage....but they might have ulterior motives for leaving them be....

but for the rest of us, man, how many times have you gone in search of something, found it, sent an email, posted a message or sent a pm to the user thinking you found what you were looking for since the thread had no finality to it, sold, closed or both...then wait, wait, wait...then finally get a response...'man, I sold that thing months ago'.....DANGIT.....if those finalized threads were locked up and honestly, removed...then it would save classifieds searchers time and clear out the board's database of old data....

          just sayin'.....

Yes, but don't post on it if it's old. That would put it back to the top, which just clutters things up and is unnecessary. Just lock it down!

Great idea. I wish folks would do the same or at least respond on items that are FS, so you would know if your wasting time or not.

yes and no....well, yes, that makes sense but for the buying half, if the seller did not lock it or post it was sold, if the buyer posts it was sold....basically the same end via a different means...yes it might be a little messy for a while...but it has been a little messy for a while....just sayin'....you make your own decision...either way works for me, browsing or searching

For anyone who doesnt know how to close a thread :

                  1. It must be YOUR thread.
                  2. Scroll back up to the first post and look just above where it says #1 in the top right corner of the post. You will see Thread Tools.
                  3. Click on Thread Tools and select Lock Thread.

This only works on a thread YOU started, and only works in the classifieds.

                        Here's all I'm sayin'...

There are 688 pages of threads over there. Figuring even 20 on a page that are currently unlocked (there are probably more), we're talking over 10,000 threads. Let's not all run over there and post "SOLD" on all those old threads. Know what I mean? I'm all for the locking. I agree100%. And posting "sold" is fine if the thread is relatively recent. But if it's past the first few pages, I think we should let it die a natural death.

yes, something from 6 plus months ago is prolly just a locker, agreed...and 688 pages at 20 +/- a whack, see what I mean....if it's older than a few months, it should be culled out anyway....just my opinion

X2 Makes me wonder why they cut the campfire off at only 9 pages, but let the classifieds run to 688 pages. Might be an oversight, cause that can't be good for the server.
