Posting lies? Just wondering.....

I know a bunch of guys who area always telling stories. Seems like every day they have a new one that hard to believe. It got me to thinking about what if they posted all their stories.

My question is this. Can posting stories on the internet get a person in trouble? Lets say someone posts stories of how I poach game animals or other illegal activities. Can that be held against them in court? Or could they get ticketed by a warden? Or would there need to be actual proof of the crime?

I had a buddy get hammered in court by the judge during his divorce from party pics he posted on his Facebook account.


Game Wardens I don't know. But ck out this fish my buddy caught @ this catfish farm down the road. The owner of the farm is a jerk so we cut the fece and fish it often at night.

Libel cases land in court all the time.

Libel or written defamation and can be cause for punishment based on the intent of the defendant.

If someone wrote something that wasn't true that caused you harm, the courts would most likely consider whether harm was accidental or intended. But even accidental harm could result in restitution.

If it causes harm I can understand. But what if it's just guys trying to outdo one another? Like I shot 13 deer last year..I had to use my 3 kids tags and my wife's tags. They never left the house..

Or I drove 95 MPH to the lease.. BS! I drove 115 MPH.. Maybe throw in a pic of the speedometer LOL..


I guess the first senario may/could give the GW probable cause to search your freezer?

If someone is dumb enough to post that kind of information on the web, just to one up someone, then they deserve what they get. Maybe they are trying to compensate for something?!?!?

If I come to work Monday morning and said I shot a 8pt.. he'll tell everyone that he shot an 8 with double drops... lol.. it gets pretty ridiculous...

I had to double check your name to make sure you are not working in my office LOL.. At one point we had 3 yes THREE guys in here that were like that. They worked in the field and when ever all 3 happened to come in at the end of day at the same time... oh man did the crap fly
