So our morning started a bit earlier than was planned. One of our neighbors was pounding on the door to wake us up. I answered and he asks if we had a new grey donkey. I answered no. I turns out that a little donkey was in his yard and had designated himself as their very own personal alarm clock. "Every hour on the hour" the neighbor says.
I told him he was not ours and Steve went out to do a head count to make sure all of our horses and our one donkey, were accounted for. They were. So the neighbor leaves.
Shortly thereafter we are visited by said donkey. With a bit of persueding by us and several of our other neighbors, believe me we were all up by this time, we got him coraled in our front padock. We will call the sheriff tomorrow to see if he has been reported missing.
I found an ad on Craigslist for someone in our area that also found a donkey the middle of October. I will give them a call to see if this is the same little feller.
He is very friendly and likes to be brushed and loves treats so I don't think he is a regular guard donkey.
