I thought it was a money shot. And after seeing this doe kick, I was expecting this to be an easy recovery. But after five hours and over 400 yards of blood trailing, I wasn't able to find this doe. Or my arrow. What do you make of it?

By the way, my LumeNok failed to turn on.

If you go to YouTube and click on full screen, you can see more detail.

It looks like very little penetration to me. She almost jumped out of her skin. If it was just a flesh wound, she might survive. Great video by the way.

Look like you hit her a little to forward like in the brisket specially with that sharp of an angle.

Looks to me that the arrow slid in between the rib cage and the shoulder.

Notice the hair coming out to the left of the brisket area in the last picture? I bet the deer is still alive.

I blew this up 400% and it appears to be a low brisket shot. You will see her again, she will be easy to spot... She will be standing off from the feeder looking for you while the others feed. Keep your head up, you will get another chance. Thanks for sharing your hunt.

The angle was pretty steep. I hope you get her.

                Hard to tell.

At around the 24 second mark it looks like your arrow hit the ground (puff of dirt) and bounced off to the right.

What type of broadhead were you shooting, fixed blade, or expandable?

That is a very steep angle for a shot. What head were you using?

At that angle the shot looks to far forward and could have just got brisket or like Justin said might have just slid in between the shoulder and rib cage. I am betting you will see her again minus a bunch of white hair!

Looks like you shot thru her arm pit like the other guys have said. My vote is alive, and you'll get another crack at her. Good luck to you

Exactly what I see fullscreen. Arrow didn't go penetrate more than 4 or 5 inches. It's dangling out under her left front shoulder blade. Looks like it went in between ribs and shoulder blade. Angle must have been a little steep for an entry that far forward. Shaved off a lot of white hair on the way too, huh?

Other than the fact that she didn't cooperate by dying in sight, that's a great video, David. Awesome!

Man, Sorry you lost her. Didn't we just have this discussion a couple weeks back. At that angle, if you hit them up under the arm, it will punch out the front and miss the goodies. She will have a heck of a limp and one nasty hole if it poked out the brisket.... Good luck putting her down.

Thanks, guys. Charles, I see the puff of dirt. But the arrow is still in her at that point. If you watch the full screen size, you can clearly see my yellow and orange blazers.

Justin, I see what you're saying, but that doesn't explain the lack of penetration. If it slipped between the ribs and the shoulder, I would have thought it would pass on through. Do you think I might have buried the broadhead in the back edge of the scapula? Or maybe the leg bone that comes off the scapula.

The broadhead is a Slick Trick.
