My first shot at a deer
Well this weekend my friend incited me to go huntin at his lease in West Texas (like 26 miles from Sonora I think). well we get there friday and since it isn't my lease i just went out to one of the 2 only tripods on there lease "they all rifle hunted"..saw a couple deer here and there that afternoon.
Next day my friend comes with me so he can video me since hes never bowhunted and thought it was gonna be pretty cool,we get in the stand and about 30 min before the feeder goes of a BIG bodied spike comes out that he said i should take once it gets light.So as were talking about things waiting for light I look down to spit a sunflower seed and instantly feel like crap,puking constantly 5 minutes later we leave the stand and walk back to the truck, then I went and layed down and had a Dr.Pepper and felt fine?? haha it was wierd. Well when the afternoon hunt came i was ready to stick that spike or a doe for management and waited,the hearing a rock flip i here somethin come walking up behind me.."an hour before the feeder went off" then out came a really re-tarted looking spike that was all messed up follow by a huge doe,4 other spikes,and 2 baby's..i was thinking all the deer on the lease were on there way to my stand haha. well waing for the feeder to go off to see if anything else would show it started goin off "5:00pm" so i got my bow and waited for a min.. letting the time pass by i decided i was gonna try and take the doe for my first deer. well here came the moment,i waited till what i thought to have ranged @ 25 yards,but was the wrong rock i found out later..drawing back i put my 25yrd pin rite behind the shoulder,got steady,and shot..then seeing everything exploding into crazyness i heard a loud THWACK like i hit something that wasn't made of flesh
I waited atleast 30 min just incase,then climbed down to look around to see if any blood of my arrow,nothing...found my arrow like 10 yards away broke 3 inches down with no blood.
