    When acorns are gone

What do you think deer eat when the acorns are gone and they are still not hitting the corn?
I think they are now gorging on cedar berries. We have a bumper crop in Stephens Co. and I notice that some trees are already picked nearly clean close to the ground and up about 4ft high. Tops of the trees are still covered in big juicy 1/4" dia fruit nearly the size of blueberries.
I am hoping we get some really prolonged cold weather soon to put em back onto the corn.

Deer are very adaptive and they eat everything. I have seen Deer tear open garbage bags (Trash) and eat thrown out food. Browse is the mainstay when acorns are gone. I even saw a video of one catching and eating a bird.
Its times like these you have to get off the feeders and get on the trails.

winter grass at home right now is better than the wheat. we did not have any acorns this year, but the winter grass seems to be what they are after. they are just now moving to the food plots regularly.
