What do you guys think about this for someone who is getting started. Cabelas has a mail in rebate of 500 bullets.

It says 100 bullets but if you click details it is 500 for buying the kit

I've never used the hornady press but the kit looks comparable to the rock chucker kit. good deal on a kit with everything you need to start and you get about 100 dollars on bullets.

the Hornady L&L is a great press ; especially for 250

what caliber(s) do you have as we can give you some recommendations for brass, bullets, etc..

You can use any brands of brass, bullets, and primers, but if they aren't the exact components specified in the reloading manual, then back off your powder charge and work up. Different manufacturer's bullets of the same caliber/weight can have different lengths of bearing surface, meaning one may produce higher chamber pressures, perhaps even unsafe pressures if you are shooting max loads. Also, different brands of brass may have different case wall thicknesses, thus meaning smaller interior capacity, which can result in higher chamber pressures.

As far as the kit--I've never used Hornady reloading stuff, only RCBS, but I do know the RCBS warranty service is about as iron clad as Leupold's scope warranties, so for the price of a box of bullets, I'd go with the RCBS kit.

The Hornady L and L is a solid press. It will handle everything you want it to do. You will have no problems loading those calibers you listed.

Hornady is lifetime warranty also. I have the progressive press and love it. You will need several items to get started so the kit is good.

i would recommend if you have never reloaded then to get with someone that has before you start. you will need dies still. are you going to full length resize or are you going to neck size? depending on which will tell what dies you need. reloading can be dangerous if you do not know what you are doing. ive never used the Hornady reloader, but i really like the RCBS rockchunker.

                            reloading needs.

I didnt see one, but you will need a scale to weight power in order to set the power measure....
