I have been researching wireless cams also. We have recently bought a farm in Iowa and I want to monitor our deer movement.

The Smart Scouter seems to get the worst reviews. It appears to have a lot of technical problems and poor customer service.

The best by far is the BuckEyeCam but it is also VERY expensive. We looked at one farm in Iowa that had 7 Buck Eye cams in place and operating. They went with the property. If the place had not been $500,000 I might have bought it just for the camera system. Here is a link to BuckEyeCams.

I like the Moultrie Game Spy Management System. This one get pretty good reviews and its less $$$. Check it out here:

Does that mean you will pay the monthly fees if I buy the setups?

Moultrie's system is a money pit. Whether the cams work or not, it cost a fortune to have pics sent to you.

HCO just release the SG580. Still has some wrinkles to work out, but may be the ticket if you have a little time before you need to purchase.

A guy in West Virginia has one. He has an AT&T family cell plan with the $30 unlimited texting. All he had to do was add $9.99 line to his plan to make the cam work. He gets unlimited numbers of pics sent to his phone and emailed to himself for that price. Like I said, if you have a little time to wait, this cam could be the ticket. Pics sizes are pretty small, but decent for text & email from a cam. He's got my phone # programmed into his camera as well, so I'm getting his pics also. Here's a couple of examples sent to my phone that I then emailed to myself:

First problem they had is the camera came out with terrible instructions, so you had a half dozen users or so over at chasingame basically swapping ideas on how to get them running. They are guys having some issues with them shutting down occasionally. Another guy had one that was not putting moon phase and temps on the pics. There's supposedly some firmware/software upgrade on the way. I'd rather one of you guys investigate what's being said by those guys first hand than me try and relate issues on a cam I do not own. Progress is being made, but I'm not sure I'd rate it a buy just yet.

I will add one thing: The cam saves pics to SD card just like all the other Scoutguard cams. The daytime color pics are some of the best I have ever seen off a commerical camera. These are pics posted by a user on CG:
