Glad ya'll are so perferct! Sometime the way people respond to post amazes me, if you don't have anything nice to say then just reframe from posting. Im sure in your hunting career there have been things that you have done or not done just because a lack of experience or knowledge. Im sure this will be a learning experience for this guy and he will site in on a regular basis.

Nope, not perfect. Still need a boat when I go fishing.

First off the OP stated that he had not checked the rifle's zero in two years. That's why everyone has mentioned sighting in before the season starts. Kinda normal protocol. Even an outfitter makes you check the zero before you can hunt.
Second, the OP asked for our opinions. If you don't want an opinion then don't ask for it or should we just pat him on the back and say there, there, it's not your fault, you did the best you could do and we're proud of you anyways.

First off I had to read that first line a second time before it clicked...that is funny ****

Second, I agree he should've sighted it in. However, there was no need to shout out the guy is an unethical hunter and will burn in hell for not doing so.

You obviously handled your reply well in stating your opinion that he should've checked it first. So you weren't about what we are talking about. I am talking about the guy that says he doesn't respect animals because of this...what kind of person says that? Might as well say he doesn't have respect for the animal because he is trying to kill it and not out hand feeding it and giving it hugs right after planting it a new tree.

          Gotcha.

As far as unethical goes, I would say that if you do it knowing it's wrong then it could be called unethical. Otherwise it's just a dumb mistake and one to be learned from. Lord knows I'm guilty of many dumb mistakes in my life. That's how I got to be so wise in my old age.

If that is the case than I have the most knowledge of ANYONE in my age range.

It all boils down to the young hunter not knowing how to measure 13"...it can go round and round all day!
