Big 6 down in Gillespie County

Shot this Big 6 this weekend, he has a 17” Spread and 17” Beams. He would have been a Great 8 if he had Brow Tines, but looks like he broke one and didn’t grow the other. We have this genetic of either very small brows or no brow on one side. I have been putting a dent in them the last few years, but they’re still running around. It is a low fence Gillespie County, Cave Creek Wildlife Management Area. Not much of a story. I went out with the Rifle because I have heard sightings of Axis coming through, and it’s weird they don’t seem to come to our feeders, until now I get this guy on the Trail Cam…so maybe I’ll get a shot at this guy. This is at one of the blinds I do not have a bow set up, it’s called the double blind. I built it to hunt with my kids, now my kids are adults and don’t care to hunt together anymore. Sitting there watching a couple does and a four point, this guy comes in. I thought about passing on him, wait to get an 8 that comes by one of my bow setups, but I talked myself into taking this guy out, he seems to disappear each year. I am doing a Euro mount on him, I’ll post it when I finish. Although he is kind of a cull, he is my trophy for this year…until I get this Big Axis.
