    Lifetime license question???

My friend has one for the fishing side of it but he wants to come to my place and go after a deer.

Question: how does he get tags for deer, turkey, etc??

Maybe I wasn't clear He has a lifetime hunting/fishing license but when I saw it today (first time I have ever seen one) it looks like a credit card/drivers license in size and it's plastic. There are no tags to pull off so how would he get tags each year?

Edit: Wait? Are y'all saying that you can only buy a lifetime fishing license or a lifetime hunting license? There is not a combo lifetime license?

Go to some place that sells licenses, present them with the card and DL, and have the tags printed out.

^^^^^^ yep, what he said. He will have to go every year to get a fresh set of tags, he just won't have to pay anything else unless he wants to duck hunt and then he will have to buy the federal duck stamp.

From my understanding you still have to go every year and get your tags. I think you can go anywhere they sell licenses and show them the lifetime and they print them up. I think you still have to buy some stamps (duck) even with a lifetime. Thats one of the reasons I have not gotten one. If I have to go up there anyway, kinda defeats the purpose.

No, what they are saying is that you can buy either 1) a lifetime fishing license, 2) a lifetime hunting license, or 3) a combo license.

You said "My friend has one for the fishing side of it..." which sounds like he has the lifetime "fishing" license in which case he would need to buy a hunting license to hunt. If it is indeed a combo then he would only need to take it to a place that sells licenses and they will print out the tags.

The only real purpose of buying a lifetime license is to save money in the long run. Plus, you don't have to give them your information each year. They just swipe the card and you're basically done.

Yep, a lifetime license will save you time and money especially if you bought it before the price went up to $1800!
