    Snake Identification

My wife just came in and told me she saw the neighbor backing up and driving forward multiple times tonight in front of the house. She approached him and asked him what he was doing, and he told her he was killing a snake that was slithering across the street. I took some pics of the dead snake, who looks like he just got through eating something. Since I have children, any ID on the snake would be appreciated. It has an orange copper tone, but I don't think it is a copperhead. Thanks for any ID you can provide.

Just wait the snake patrol will be here in a little bit.

But I do say that your neighbor will have a rat/mice problem now that this one is dead.

chicken snake. Unless you got hens laying eggs they are good to have around. Eat lots of rats and moles and gophers, mice and so on.
