Rut is really moving in the Hill Country...

today. Sat in the tripod behind my house this AM. Cloudy and cool, but a little windy. I saw more rutting activity this morning than I have seen in awhile. Bucks were on the move and had one nice 8 point at the feeder early. I watched him chase the does around and could have taken him several times but I wnat him to get bigger for next year. I actually heard him snort wheeze for the first time. Lots of grunting and does bawling. I'm going back early (about noon) and taking the horns with me to see what happens. I'm lookng for a freak 4 point to take out of the herd. Wish me luck.
