If I were to ever decide to get a crossbow, it would be an Excalibur. With recurve limbs instead of compound, there are less moving parts which means easier care. If you break a string in the field with an Excalibur, just slap a new one on. You break a string on a wheeled crossbow, you better have a press handy.

Great bow my son shot 3 deer last year. There is a good site that can teach you how to build a home made silencer. I recommend that. Love ours and it is deadly. I will not let them shoot at deer over 30yrds but it is accurate way past that.

I have a Vixen II Excaliber bow and love it. Of course it is lighter weight for a woman but it is deadly out to 50 yds. I went to Crossbow Nation sight and did my homework there. And bought mine from Jeff that runs the site. Good luck and hope this helps.

My brother just bought a Barnett Buck Commander and that thing is deadly accurate. I've shot it a couple of times and was amazed at its speed and accuracy.

I have a cheaper Barnette and wouldn't hunt anything but pigs with it to loud, but I did just get an email from ebay the other day. Member poorfish is having all crossbows 20% off.

I'm shooting the wicked ridge invader and love it. Only prob is finding your arrows after you shoot something.
Excaliber are great one thing to consider if your hunting in a pop up is the size. They are a little wider than compounds. Great xbows though.

I have hunted with an Excalibur Exocet 200 for the last 2 seasons. I love it. I looked at dozens of crossbows before I decided on it. It looked like the best made one in my opinion. Once you get the scope dialed in it is deadly accurate. Killed my first buck ever this year and it was with the Excalibur. I promise you will not be dissappointed if you get one.
