    Getting my ATV back!

Just got a call from an officer at the Department of Public Safety.....a game warden was checking in at a hunting camp and decided to check the serial numbers on the vehicles in camp. Well, turned out that there was a couple stolen atv's there...my four wheeler was one of them. My paperwork (registration, theft report, etc) has been sent to the game warden and the justice of the peace. I will be receiving paperwork before too long about the court date to recover it. He said cosmetically it looked ok, but he couldn't say more than that about the mechanical condition except that the battery was dead. That thing was stolen 4-1/2 years ago.

I'd love to have my old Sportsman back. It was stolen from my house back in 2002. Glad they found yours.

The auto theft task force called me about two years ago and asked if I still wanted it listed as "stolen". I told them with a doubt to leave it on the list. I honestly never thought I would get it back. As soon as I find out who the GW is I will make sure to thank him personally.

Well, I am hoping it was because they were using it at the hunting camp. I imagine I will have some work ahead of me, but I am ok with it. I am just glad I will be getting it back.

if you filed a claim on your insurance and the payed, you have to notify them it was recovered.
glad you got it back, I lost one 10 years ago in the conroe area. I dont want the bike back, I just want the name of the scum who stole it

Good for you. A friend of mine just recovered his. It was stolen along with trailer about a year ago. Cops saw and stopped a guy riding ATV on street and ran the check on the serial number. They had cut out the ignition switch and rewired it to a switch I had mounted on it for him to operate a rear broadcast feeder. I just got through installing new ignition and rewiring the feeder setup again for him. Now if they can only find the trailer .... but at least they got the guy who stole it.

That is great news. I heard the Wise county GW's found stolen atvs last year up there.
I've also heard GW's and Highway patrol ck alot of atvs on opening weekend on the interstates. Good deal. Sure your boy will be stoked
