I have Verizon WIFI and it works great... Look into getting a cell phone signal boost.

I had one and had a direction antenna on a 20 ft pole... . worked greast... I just sold it because they istalled a new tower thast I can see from my property.

Have tried Hughes and Wild Blue at the farm in Louisiana and still can't get speeds high enough to actually work from there the whole week. Technology in this space really needs to improve IMHO.

It is better than nothing to get a thing or two done. But to sit down and work a good 8 hr day. Well let's just say the frustration made it a better idea to drive 20 miles to Ruston and hit a wifi hot spot. Frustrating as I'd work a good 25% of the year at the farm if I could have solid internet at good speeds.

Skybeam bought our line of sight isp out and now our service stinks compared to what we had. Also you mentioned, months ago, that you bought a microcell for the lease. If you haven't found out already, the at&t jumboterd (microcell) doesn't work with a line of sight internet connection, you must have a hardline coming to and inside the house.

Any updates, looking for service and it looks like Exede is my best bet.

We have Exede and we like them hardly have any issues with them. We use to have Huges Net and they are a huge rip off, half the time our Internet didn't work and they were double the price of Exede.
I take a lot of online classes as test and the connection is fast enough to take test on

I had a Verizon hotspot and it worked very good. Had line of sight to tower.

Switched to Dish and it is slow.

Wildblue and exede are the same company. Exede just has the higher speeds. I have an older government package thru wildblue and it's not bad at all. If I ever want to go to a higher speed , all I need to do is call them. I'm happy with my 27gb limit and current speeds at $70 mnth.

I am also in the Poerty area and our house used to have the Wi-five tower on it. They said due to the larger trees that have grown around our house we couldn't get the service anymore. I had a difficult time with wi-five as they removed the tower and didn't patch ANY of the holes that were left in my roof.

I had Wild Blue and now they have me on Exceed for $84/ month. I can easily stream movies with my speed.

and - they just told be that because I've used them for so long, I get 2 free unlimited months of usage every year. They said it comes in handy for the holidays when family comes to visit and everyone is using their smart phones or wanting to watch movies. Wild Blue rewards loyality - something other companies have forgotten.

Check out Skybeam, and see if they offer service in your area.

I have had good luck with them.

Wild Blue works good for me. All my neighbors had HughesNet and dropped them to go to WildBlue. I don't have many choices down here where I'm at.

Skybeam works good here too -rural Johnson County. I also have a verison air card that works good too when I'm traveling.
