Looking for a place to hunt hogs

Any suggestions on public or land someone might want hogs shot. I have been coming to Texas every March for about 12 years. I have tried several
of the day leases, but would like to hunt on public or private just for hogs.

Check into the AHP program here, pretty much all of the areas that you can hunt on with the $48 permit have hogs on them. I don't have the book here at work but if you post the city/ county you plan on visiting I will check and see what areas are open for hog hunting at the time you plan on being her and let you know

Only problem with hunting hogs in March on public land is most you can only hunt them inconjunction with deer season, which I don't think is right. Some places have a "season", which is stupid as well. I know of one place in E Tx that is public and has the hogs. Just don't know if you can hunt them once deer season closes or not.

Dan- Tishomingo Wildlife Refuge is just north of Texoma and south of us here in Oklahoma. There are alot of wild hogs around, but not much public land where you can hunt them. Most private land is leased for hunting and you're not likely to find a landowner who will let a non-resident hunt. If you go to www.wildlifedepartment.com you can find some information on public hunting in OK. Have you checked with Rob Kiebler of Fairchase Ltd? He offers some excellent hog and javelina hunts in south TX and I'm sure you'd enjoy hunting with him.

According to some people on TBH hogs have taken over the world and cause 500 kabillizon dollars in damage each year. Some I'm sure it's easy to find a place to hunt these destructive animals.

In reality, good luck. Your best bet is to find a nice person who wants to help an out of stater have a good time.

AS the time gets closer try this forum again. March is just not on the minds of people that are in full deer hunting mode.

I may have several places for you but it changes according to where the hogs are running.
