Bastrop County Rut

I've been hunting since mid bow season and haven't seen any bucks that have looked like they were in full Rut. But everywhere I look I see a dead buck on the side of the road. Does anyone know when the Rut usually hits in Bastrop County?

no sign of rut so far by me. my place is on 21 east towards paige. in recent years its started around thanksgiving weekend...

So Ive lived in Bastrop for about 15 years
The rut is just about to be in full gear
A man that works at LCRA told me there may be 2 this year because of the moon phase and because it started getting cooler this year

at my house everything seems to get almost dead right before the rut and then when it hits its full rut

Glad to see Bastrop hunters! I love the cedar creek area and the hunting. I hunted a place on pearce lane next to the star ranch. There is another gate right across from berdoll farms. A friend of mine killed the biggest 8 point I have ever seen there. Where do you guys hunt? (sorry dont know when the rut is!)lol

There is alot of Big deer here. From what I understand Camp Swift area is the best hunting because of the deer that was shipped in a while back

Steiner ranch area has big deer also. its real close to camp swift

I have been hunting pretty hard and have yet to see any bone on my place on 21 East.

My buddies have killed a couple nice ones with guns, but they do not seem to be running hard yet.

Kruger where you hunting? I am right before 1441 on the right.

Im about a mile past Terrys Corner if your going down 21 toward bastrop. the name of the road is porter.

I live in Del Valle my house backs up to a big ranch, I saw a buck chasing some doe this morning. This front should help kick some things off.

wow thats pretty cool. i live about a mile up porter. its just a small piece of property that i bow hunt. good chance that youve seen some of the deer i have on trail camera lol
