    help with room addition

im highly considering building a 16 by 16/256sq ft. room addition to the back of my house.however i want to find out the most efficient way to begin this project and a good estimate of the total cost.the addition will be brought up by a pier and beam foundation but i know there are many different types. anyone have constuction or addition expierence that they can aid me with?

    thank you

Is the house on pier and beam or slab? Might be better to do the addition on a slab unless you have to tie in to plumbing from the original house. Cost will run anywhere from $50 to over $100 per square foot depending on how it is built and how fancy it needs to be. Additions can cost more per square foot than building new homes on some occasions, at least they do around here.
