    Anyone Know Fossils.................???

Is this an old fossilized bone.........If so wonder what it could be???

It was found 30 odd years ago in the Glenn Rose area.

Its kind of porous like bone........

Not a fossil. Just a strangely weathered rock.

Really hard to say. Clearly dinosaurs lived in the area so one is tempted to make it into some kind of skull. In most cases fossilized skulls don't have lower jawbones intact, and I can't imagine such a large eye socket(s). Just the same, it may be part of a larger bone structure that has been altered due to weathering. Most of the time fossilized bone has been replaced by mineralization but retains much of the original properties (porous, etc). Cool find! Take it to a university and have it analyzed.

I don't really do fossils as that's the realm of a paleontologist. But, it looks like a cool rock. Can't verify if its a fossil or not.

If you google some pictures of dino skelitons and bone structures. You can see how it compares... While it might not be a entire peice of bone structure could be whats left of a larger structure.

I dont see how it couldnt be a eye socket or nasal cavity of a larger dino. It even looks to have some type of cavity inside.

Given the dimensions shown - almost 2' long - and the shape and thickness, it does not resemble any skeletal structure of any animal, alive or prehistoric, that I have ever seen. There were some very large dinosaurs in the Glenn Rose area but nothing with any sort of structure resembling that. I'm the fossil nerd who never grew out of it - even studied geology, and paleontology in college. It is simply an oddly weathered piece of limestone. It is cool looking though. Aquarium folks love that type of rock for their cichlid tanks.

About the thread--tree root grew through a rock.

Tbar, take it to the geology dept at UT Arlington for confirmation. That is where I studied. As Big Brass said above, it is not any thing I recognize either.
