Ok, so what I'm hearing is that bigger is better, even in an area where a 150" buck would be once in a lifetime?

What about sawing off the tips of some of the antlers and the brow tines to avoid sticking myself? Would that make a difference in how the sound resonates and carries?

You could bang some pencils together and call up a nubbing buck...

I have some from a 120 class 8pt if you want to borrow them...they've rattled a bunch of hill country bucks up

Yes cut the brow tines. Deer don't respond well to loud cuss words during a rattling sequence!
