It never fails that every year when the snow hits it seems like all the non-native Coloradans (of which there are more and more every year
) forget how to drive in the snow (i.e. don't speed, but don't do 5 mph either!) and stuff like this happens.....

Snow, fog cause 34-car pileup outside Denver
LARKSPAR, Colo. (Gannett) — Troopers say 12 people were injured after a 34-vehicle pileup Monday on Interstate 25 near here.
Earlier, Douglas County Sheriff's Office officials had estimated 40 vehicles involved and as many as 20 people hurt as a band of snow moved through the area in the morning.
"This was really hard snow. This is something where people were going way too fast for the conditions. They just weren't paying attention," driver Brad Simpson said.
The Colorado State Patrol says 34 vehicles, including four semi-trucks, were involved in three separate crashes because of snow, fog and ice. One of the semis was leaking diesel fuel. People from two cars required extrications.
"The cars that were in front of us were pretty much spinning out of control, doing 360s, and we just managed to pull over to the side and avoided it all," Carl Howell said.
All of the injuries were considered non-life-threatening, troopers say. .
"I had started to swerve and fortunately I came up a little bit short," Jim Butler said. "I'm one of the lucky ones. I'm very blessed, very fortunate."
Authorities say school buses were used to transport those not injured from the scene of the crash to a shelter at a church in Larkspur, about 40 miles south of Denver.
