    Northeast Kansas Bound!!

We are headed out 1pm Friday for a 7 day public land hunt. Has anyone been or heard how the action is going in Northeast Kansas? Weather man said LO 15 High in the 30s hope he is not a liar.

We will be at Tuttle Creek. Will have to look at the map to tell what county it is in, dont look to often because it makes me lose sleep.

        Elk-Nut,

Where are you hunting in Nemaha? I was up that way two weeks ago. It should be lights out when you get there. We were a hair early, but one member of our group did kill a mid 160's double drop.

Cool. I hunt just south of Seneca near a town called Corning. My in-laws have land there. Talked to my BIL lastnight and they have begun the rut! Neighbor harvested a nice 170+. Come on Tuesday (11/23)!!!!!

Tuttle Creek isn't too far. You are close to Manhattan which is about 45-1 hr SOuth West of me. Good luck!

My in-laws are also from Seneca. The actually have several thousand acres between Corning to Axtell to Centralia. Good luck. You can also let me know if y'all need anything. I can take care of y'all if you need anything in that area.

Oh yeah...make sure y'all go to the Corning bar. Things get crazy in there on Friday and Saturday nights!

Good luck to both of you!

We are staying at the state park at Tuttle Creek. $445.00 for 7 days for a cabin that sleeps 6 with full kitichen. Our first Kansas hunt. Thanks for the offer if your brother knows where the deer are that would be great!!

Good luck! Better take your blankets! You need to go to Little Apple Brewery on the west side of Manhattan. Awesome beer and great steaks!

You guys are timing it right definitely. The big boys were just starting to get on their feet when we left the 13th. Good luck.

Last week, about 60 miles south of KC, close to La Cyne, we had bucks locked down with does. The small guys were hanging close and getting run off. We did see groups of up to 6 does together and also some yearlings by themselves, as if momma had come into heat and ran them off. I would use a doe decoy and hunt the food.
                        Good luck and be safe.

Last week in Central Kansas was really slow with the crystal clear blue skies and warm temperatures. However that rain and cold hit Friday and the bucks were pushing Saturday. Of course I picked the wrong stand on the last hunt. I will be back up there with you Friday and the bucks should be running around hopefully.

Thanks for the doe decoy tip, had not thought of using one. Have been reading the post about rut going on and did not know how long it would last and if we would make it up in time.
