TBH GearHeads ... I Need More Speed!!!

Got this little playtoy last year. Its a 196cc B&S motor with a top speed of about 20mph. I'm tryin to get more speed outta it.

I know very little about workin on engines, but I was figurin I could change some sprockets around a bit, but figure there's some type of ratio I'd have to adhere to. I can get a tourqe converter for $179 on the net that is 'sposed to be an easy bolt up, but was tryin to figure a cheaper way of gettin the same result.

    Any thoughts or ideas?

lots of options, but the firs is safety, Do you really want to go over 20 on that fat tire thing?

sprockets I don't think there is any ratio you need to adhere to but is the bigger sprocket on the front on that bike?

Middle & bottom pic, front of bike is on left. Smallest gear is towards front of bike.

If you change the gear ratio, top end speed will come at the cost of low end torque.

Better plug, a lower restriction exhaust I would think.

                Why?

Ahha. You can adjust speed buying adding or subtracting teeth from the back sprocket the easiest. I doubt you'll get anywhere near 20 more miles per hour out of it though.

Hmmm. Restrict th exhaust more? Id like best of both worlds ... Hole shot & speed. But, guess I'll hafta settle for one or th other ... Or find that middle ground, huh?
