How many Lbs of meat off an Elk ??

You guys that have taken several elk how much meat do you get off a cow elk vs a good size Bull ?

My brother took a nice bull this year and estimated the weight at close to 650-700 lbs. I took a yearling spike....similar to a cow and it weighed about 500 lbs.

I got 160 lbs of meat off mine....my brother got close to 250+ lbs off his.

Thanks... Thinking of doing a Texas Elk meat hunt and was wondering what to expect.

When my wife shot her elk in NM we got about 160 pounds of meat and she weighed about 400 on the hoof.
