    Does or fawns first???

Do does or fawns come in to heat first or does it not matter?

From my experience the older does will come in first. The really late ones that come in even after a secondary rut are nearly always the youngest of does with their first heat.

That,s what I've always noted as well. Every buck I've ever seen tending does in the secondary rut was with a yearling doe.

doe fawns are rarely bred down here like they are up north.

Maybe I should rephrase my question...
So since im only seeing you bucks chasing fawns while the does do their thing does that mean it's prerut, rut or post?

Most of the first heat fawns will come in post rut if not later, even as late as February. Its nearly always the dominate buck that breeds them.
