    Pre Coldfront = No Deer????

I hunted yesterday evening prior to the coldfront that moved in early this morning. For the first time this season, I saw no deer at all. Do deer move less prior to a coldfront? If so, will they move more after? Thanks.

ive noticed this several times, even when an untimely cold front hits i think the deer just bed down to stay warm until mid day. and in 2 or so days the weather is back to normal and the deer start to move on their normal patterns again.

that or the deer in our area are just weird

Thanks Red. I know fronts make fish act weird, but I was not sure about deer.

I dont know what it is either. I have not seen a deer in the afternoons since Saturday.

They are moving good til about 9am then you dont see them at all again til the next morning.

I have not seen a deer in the afternoon in a few days until last night. I went out to make an adjustment in feeding times for this weekend (got a buck that comes right before light so I wanted to make sure I had corn on the ground to keep him there a few more minutes) After adjustments my son and me went into the rifle blind jsut to see if anything showed up. I had an 8pt that I have not seen since August on TC come in and eat for about 45 minutes. I am soo pumped about this weekend.. calling for 30 degree w/ nw wind for my stand early sat. morning... hope to stick the dude I missed the other morning.. good luck to all

I'm leaving in an hour. It sounds like the rut has kicked in so I am pumped. Haven't noticed weather patterns affecting deer movement except for strong winds or of course rain. Whatever. I get to go hunting!

Will they move after this rain?

Later in the year when we get blue/wet northers they will move like crazy before they hit.
