Congrats Gary! I bet those pix don't do that buck justice. That is a massive rack that's probably dwarfed by the body size of that buck. No ground shrinkage on those northern deer!
Back home. Truck cleaned and deer meat put up. The drive from Red Deer to Calgary was brutal as snow/ice was bad. No less than six wrecks. Subdivision is a mess as well, give we have a foot of snow on the ground in places. Didn't realize that we actually had milder weather six hours north.
The last two guys tagged out today, so our hunt ended up 5-5! I am very grateful to have these guys bring me into their annual hunt. Albertans are equal to Texans in hospitality and deer hunting fellowship. I will post up more pics soon of the other bucks. Here is the last buck shot of the trip (last minute buck by Kevin).
While we had great luck this week, the hunting here is fabulous. Public land accessible to any resident......WOW!

Thanks guys. Attached are a few more pictures. Keeping batteries charged was a challenge as the extreme cold killed them quickly. I touched the "Freak" buck yesterday at the taxidermist when I dropped mine off. He is quite the specimen and we guess he couldn't have been more than 3.5 given his body size in comparison to the others. He has 21 scoreable points..I'm looking forward to seeing how he ends up scoring.
I put the tape to mine on two occasions and he is settling in around 157-158, which is about spot on to what my Illinois 8 point ended up scoring! While he didn't bust 160 as I had hoped, he is still too unique a buck to not have him shoulder mounted. Below are his preliminary score info. He scored well, with very short beams.
Total Points 13
Canada
Tines 59.75
Mass 35.250
Beam 42.250
Spread 20.000
157.250
Attached are also some additional pictures. I'm still missing a picture of one of the bucks taken on the last day.
