EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Three Texas game wardens are recovering after their plane crashed as they looked for poachers in a remote area near El Paso.

University Medical Center of El Paso supervisor Debbie Harp says Hallie Dacy, A.J. Smith and Kenneth Zuber were hospitalized Thursday in stable condition.

Harp says all suffered non-life threatening injuries in Wednesday's crash.

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department spokesman Mike Cox says the game wardens were looking for people who illegally hunt mule deer and aoudad sheep and had spotted a suspicious vehicle.

The plane was making a turn when it crashed into the Franklin Mountains.

Cox says the cause of the crash is sought and no foul play is suspected.

Cox says the wreckage ended up several hundred yards into New Mexico.
