    Do you remember....

    1. When you had to write your name and address on your hunting arrows?
    2. When you actually purchased a archery stamp to put on the back of your license?
    3. When fastflight strings and cables came out and replaced steel cables and teardrops?
    4. When that new camo "Mossey Oak" came out?
    5. When most compounds had more than 2 wheels?
    6. When Chuck Adams completed the Super Slam and Easton came out with the XX78 Super Slam Shafts?
    7. Overdraws?
    8. The Golden Key Huntmaster 2000 rest?
    9. When there were no Mathews?

    And my all time favorite.....

    10. The double arrow rest, their slogan was "My new rest knocked the deer plum off it's feet!"

Feel free to add others you may thing of!

        do you remember .....

        - shooting an 85# bow with 24" 2213 Easton superlites and my bow was smokin' at 245 fps

        - 1988 Summer Olympics.. 14 yr old Denise Parker representing the USA in archery

        - High Country "hatchet cams" and the Machined Supreme

        - string trackers to prevent losing deer

        - hunting with poison "pods" which mounted on arrows and contained the drug Anectine

        - climbing trees and hunting w/out a safety harness system

        - PSE Mach Flight 4 and the "Mongoose" series of sights , rests, and quivers

        - using a Ranging TLR75 as a rangefinder

        - dipping arrows in test tubes of white paint for "crests"

        - when Easton Diamond E vanes were the shizzle

        - cat quivers were the only day pack

        - before the 35mm TC's , there was trail timers (clock) which was activated by string tied across deer trails

            just remembered one.

do you remember when the only camo was army stuff, and only serious hunters even cared about camo....?

Don't forget to sign your stamp. Blake I ran my PSE Laser II at 70 lbs through the chrono the other day and got a smoking 190 fps out of her. My old 45 lb recurve smoked an arrow through at 130 fps.

The Pearson Spoiler was the world's fastest bow. I don't remember what speed they got out of it, but it wasn't 300fps.

The Hoyt Super Slam Heat was the shizzle in Hoyt's line up. 70#, 32" draw, XX75 2317's got me a whoppin 204fps.

Remember when there were no feeders that dumped or spun corn? Would take a trash can, tie it to a T post, cut a quater size hole in the side towards the bottom and fill it up. A full size can could get cleaned out over night.

Before Mossy Oak we had Trebark.

The first carbon shafts were those little pencil sized Bemans with the outserts.

The T pins with the plastic tips were the buzz of hunting. No more brass pins!

I remember all those except the poison pods. I actually just met a guy monday that said he used to shoot with a 13" overdraw.

                    Crumby's Treebark camo

Remember when we thought all those hunting shows were legit? Ole Noel Feather dispelled that.

Remember the string tracker? Once hooded it on a limb, by the truck, and played out a half mile of it to the stand...ha. ....Shoe

Thanx for the trip back in time this morning guys! Very good thread Lowe and yes, I remember all of those.
Cajun Blake, I was talking to a friend the other day and the topic of "poison pods" came up while we were recalling old times. Oh and by the way.....I still have 2 string trackers, the little wires that mounted behind the broadhead AND a couple of refills! LOL
My old Mach-flite with Mongoose sights and overdraw is in storage with 3 dozen Easton XX75's.

Does this mean we are getting old????

And there were arrow straighteners too! No such thing as mechanical broadheads.

Do you remember the original Bear "Whitetail" bow with the crazy metal mounts for the wheels on the end of the limbs?
