i get in stand about an hour before daylight. on a small lease i had a few years ago i slept in a box blind i had a few times and also got in my tripod a few times around 2am. sleeping in the box blind was fine, getting in the tripod that early was PAINFUL. i will say that every time i did this i saw more and better deer than i had ever seen on that lease before.

let me also say that i think things to death and am a constant worrier. so i tend to wake up before the alarm goes off and figure its better to be sitting in the stand than laying in bed awake.

i usually get within 150 to 200yds on my bike about an hour before light and spend 30mins sneaking in to my stand. my feeder goes off at 8 but i dont hardly see them at it and if i do its around 930.

I'm usually in the blind 20-30 minutes before legal shooting light.

45 to 30 mins before sunrise sounds about right

Opening morning, an hour before shooting light--but later in the season as I get more settled in, 30 minutes before shooting light. My stands are both in creek bottoms with tall trees, and are shaded, so it gets to shooting light a bit earlier than if I was in the mesquite on the hill. I love to be in the stand in the dark, listening to the night critters getting ready to head to the den and the day critters waking up.

no later than 5 am i will often go earlier and sleep for a while before the sun comes up. once i am awake i can't go back asleep until i get to the stand fearful that I might oversleep at home and be late to the stand.

It depends on where and what I'm hunting. If I know the typical pattern of the animals I'm after I try and get there 30 min before I know they are moving. I I don't, I try and get there an hour-45 min before legal shooting light. But even that depends on who I'm sharing te campfire with te night before.

Depends on what time we leave the fire the night before But I like to get to my tree in the hill country an hour before shooting light...

Now down south, you dont get in your blind until you can see to shoot.... the deer will come in, eat all your corn and leave before sun up if you get there too early!

Usually 45 minutes early. If i got extra time ill just sleep, I seem to wake up every 5 minutes or so and eventually its daybreak!

I like to be in an hour before the feeder goes off. It gives the place a little time to settle and me some peace and quiet time to think.

1 hour before sun up. Its a good shoot for time. If Im a little late from my morning constitutional then it wont ruin a hunt.

So I shoot for an hour and make it most times, 30 - 45 minutes at other times.

Also depends If I have been busted coming in the morning before. I will just go earlier and earlier till Im not busted going in!

Oh and thanks to a nubbin for bringing this one up fron november!
