    I think everyone is getting too focused on the color.

    Reds and greys have different shaped heads, and reds have longer leg:body ratios.

                  Its definately a red. Yes, many red foxes do have grey on them and the tip of reds are often white, but not always. Greys usually have a black tip. Reds and greys are built totally different. If that photo was in B&W, any trapper would tell you that is a red just from looking at the build. No question, red.

                      My uncle took it home and is going to get either a full body mount or just tan it and make a rug out of it.

                            i dont have much experience with foxes but the pics i see online lead me to say it is a gray....the experst say no way but is there some kind of visual you guess can post to show us the difference? if you google pics of red you get all red foxes...you google gray and you get pics of gray and red mixed foxes
