    Nightforce Scopes

Does anybody have one of these? I want to build up a really nice .308 and was thinking about one of these scopes, if so are they worth the money because they are proud of them.

Might want to send a PM to coup de grace (Rick). He has a nice .308 with a nightforce on it. He could give you some good input. He's hunting for several days straight right now so it may be awhile before you get a response.

I have the 3.5-15x56 on my Rem 700 5R Milspec, mounted in Ken Farrell rings and base.

It's a real nice piece of tough, heavy, no nonsense glass.

I can't really tell a difference between my Leupold Mark IV and my Nightforce in optical clarity but I have only compared them at 200 yards. I will say that the Nightforce is built quite a bit heavier than the Mark IV.

I have the 5.5-22x56 on my 7MMWSM and it is worth every penny. I have the NPR 1. the scope is solid and the glass is awesome.

cool glad to hear I am looking at it for the purpose of shooting quikly but under presure at any where from 100 to 1000 yards do yall think there is better out there that are less expensive or a nightforce is the way to go?

I think the glass snobs consider US Optics and Schmidt and Bender and a few other to be better but I don't have any experience with those.

www.snipershide.com is a good place to start in researching high end glass. Some of those guys use them professionally and have some interesting opinions.

ditto other replies...... pretty heavy scope but worth every penny

a rifle is only as accurate as the scope on top

IMO, 95% of people do not need a NF scope unless your shooting a precision long range rifle

for a basic hunting rifle shooting at 200 - 300 yds, a NF is overkill

nf is good glass...solid quality. They are heavy and something you need to consider depending on hunting & shooting application.

I have an 8-32 on my 7mm lazzeroni....would really like to get one of their 2.5-10 for my AR too.

My father has them on at least 4 of his custom rifles, and they are very nice. Very worth they money.

For the same quality as the night force you will pay triple to 4 times the price . wouldnt build a long range gun with anything less...

I've got two of them. One is an 8-32 NXS with the NPR-2 reticle. The other is a 12-42 benchrest scope with the NPR-2 reticle. They both are really clear. I don't know if they are as clear as an S&B or Swarovski but I can't find any problems with them in the clarity dept. I think you could use them for a hammer if you wanted to. They track more accurately than any scope I have ever owned. As with any high power scope, if you turn them up on a hot sunny day, the mirage will play heck with you. I usually don't use the higher power unless its either cool out, early in the morning or late in the evening.

One of mine is mounted in nightforce rings and the other is mounted in the Ken Farrell rings. Both are on Ken Farrell one piece picatinny mounts. Both are VERY solid.

On clear days, I can see my 20 cal. bullet holes at 400yds with my 8-32, maybe further.

Ditto this! I've never seen another scope track as accurately as the NF. After getting my first one, I sold my Leupys because the tracking wasn't up to par with the NF.

Highly recommended scope! Re-sale value is pretty awesome as well.
