Ok well now for the long story. Headed to Centerville Thursday Oct 28. I brought a buddy I am trying to get involved in Hunting along and another friend that works at Cabelas. I made them both a deal they could have the buck of there choice bucks AFTER they killed a doe. Fair right? You would have thought that would be easy right. It was a ruff 4 days for them. My new hunting buddy was to run the camera for a morning and evening hunt for me and then he was on his own. They both saw lots of bucks and both claimed to see nice shooter bucks on numerous sittings. On Thursday upon arrival we rode around to move some tree stands. Saw a monster, what then was one of the biggest deer I have seen on my ranch. I moved stands around to hunt this deer. Hunted him 4 nights and 4 mornings and saw the deer twice but not in bow range. I finally, frustrated wanted to give up. I sat at home at night thinking how can an animal with horns outsmart a human. I would have been at the ranch 11 days today and said enough is enough. I will leave tonight after the evening hunt(Sat 11-6) and surprise the wife. Low and behold he showed his face at 6:04. I took video of multiple good bucks through the week and had said prior to that evening, it has been an awesome week so I gave it hell. I for the first time hunting walked up on a deer and the rack didn't shrink. My gramps and dad were both there to help me cape the deer out and enjoy the moment. This deer will not be forgotten. My biggest deer ever, the biggest deer off of our ranch ever, and the smile couldn't be wiped off my face all night. I am still shocked. For Leon co I think he's awesome and goes to show hard work pays off when you stay positive. Sorry for the long read but I said I would give details. Still curious to know what he will score.
