Maybe a silly question ?

I have a question , i have heard both ways but i am unable to find any definative answers yet .

When you are hunting during rifle season if you are using a bow is it lawful to also have a rifle ?

I know you are not allowed to carry a fire arm during archery only season , was wondering if that applies to rifle season as well ?

You are allowed to have both bow/ crossbow or rifel during the general rifle season. Archery Season only, better not have a fire arm on while your hunting. Unless you hunt in deep South Texas where illegals are a big problem.

Yep, you can pack it all!!! My BIL used to take his bow, rifle, and pistol out during rifle season. He wanted to be well prepared!!!

Remember that in Texas we have Archery Only Season, then we have General Season. (With black powder seasons in some counties)

By definition in Archery only season you cannot be in possession of a firearm while bow hunting. (paraphrased)
General season allows hunting by all legal means.

The others are right, during the General season you can have as many deer killin devices as you can carry.

sometimes my dad hunts with me and he brings his rifle while im bowhunting, but he sits in the box blind to only shoot hogs. so is that legal? there is no season on hogs.......
