3 Day Live hunt - Carta Valley
Left at 7 am this morning to beat the hunting traffic! Normally don't go opening weekend to avoid the crowds. But- Trey has been shooting his bow daily and begging to go!
Brushed in a ground blind this afternoon and returned an hour later to hunt it.
Feeder hadn't went off but immediately had deer on fresh hand corn-
After a quick calming down whisper- Trey was at full draw on his first animal ever- 9 years old and about to fire an 85 grain NAP thunderhead into a mature doe. Don't know who was more nervous! I limited his shots to 15 yrds and quartering away only- she turns perfect and video cam is rolling-
Arrow hits deer like I fired it myself. Blows through both sides and hits ground - blood going every where- I'm in disbelief! Perfect double lung shot- she goes about 50 yrds and piles up-
3 more hunts to come- black buck and mouflon on his list tomorrow! Maybe cull buck if all is perfect!
