Exciting evening yesterday. Had deer in the field in front of my stand when I walked in. They left and I found a scrape about 15 yards from my stand. Sat for about an hour and had a doe in the field in front of me. She kept looking to my right, but was making her way towards me. Then another doe and yearling come in from the right. The new doe is aggressive and starts kick boxing the other doe. I'm watching as they are starting my way, when I catch some movement off to the right. Buck! Big 8 that I have on camera. They all mill around and the first for doesn't like something, so she high tails it taking the rest of the deer with her. I tried a grunt and snort wheeze, but he kept going with the does. All in all a good first evening.

Had a doe come in behind me and fee around for about 5 minutes. She headed for the field where another doe was. Watched and waited, and the first doe came into my bait pile. She gave me a shot, as I drew she looked up. I settled the pin and dumped the string. She dropped and the hit was a little higher than I wanted. Watched her for about a minute and I think she bedded down. That was at 8:30. I'm gonna give her another half hour and then I'll sneak back to the truck and then try to find her.

Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning were nothing spectacular. With the temp.s rising and the wind howling, all that was seen were a couple of does and some young bucks. Sunday afternoon was spent teaching my friends oldest son to shoot the bow I gave him and help my friend change the water pump in his truck.
Got up this morning and went out. Just as I was getting to my stand, a deer started blowing. Well, getting into my spot about an hour before light let's things calm down if this happens (at least that's my theory). Around 7, I see the big 8 I've been after coming across the field right to me. He's coming pretty quick, and I don't have time to get into a better shooting position. He jumps the fence and comes by at 8 yards. I'm at full draw as he comes into my shooting lane. I'm twisted up like a pretzel trying to get this shot. My pin hits where I want and I dump the string. Right under him! I was(and still am) sick. I've been after this deer for almost 8 days, I get the shot I want, and I BLOW it! All in all it was one of the best deer hunting weekends I've had in a while.
