    Full upright or semi-sneak?

The deer in my avatar is my first bow buck. I know he's nothing big, but he was hard earned and I'm proud, so I'm getting him mounted. So which of these two positions would you have him mounted in? He's at the taxidermist right now, and I told him semi-sneak with a slight right turn, just like my avatar. I still have time to change my mind and I'm on the fence about it. Help me decide guys! Also, what do you think about the ear position?

    Thanks, Jason

I think the bucks that are wide look good looking straight the tall not so wide ones look good turned so I would stick with your first idea of turning one way. and congats on the bow kill Im still trying for my first buck with a bow.

Alert IMHO is my least favorte pose, and Alert straight has to be the fakest looking pose IMHO. Semi-Sneak turned looks good and really wide ones I like Full Sneak

You can go to the taxi and look through his forms catalog because there are tons and tons of different ones, not to mention all the different companies that make forms. It may not change your mind but you'll at least know what you picked is the one you liked. Besides there are some cool ideas and mounts in there.

Personally, I like THIS look on a pedestal, or even a wall mount.

Congrats on a great deer... he's something to be proud of.

My taxidermist says this ear position(in my avatar) will not look good on a mount. Any opinions?

I would try a wall pedistal look either to the right or left.He is an amazing buck. and any deer with a bow is a deer well earned ...but i think a side shoulder mount like the pedistal would look good...and its different.

What??? Sounds like he probably doesn't know how to position ears in anything other than a forward position.

Since your buck has more of a narrow rack, I would recommend putting both ears back similar to the pic. This makes the rack "appear" wider. An upright form will accentuate the "tallness" of a rack, whereas a semi-sneak will draw attention to the width. Hope this helps.

i shot a deer that somewhat resembled him and I went with a full sneak, ear's back but not pinned back turn slightly to the right and couldn't be happier....he was only 14 1/2 inside but very tall, i have him hung roughly 4 1/2ft off the ground in a corner of my room...he gets compliments all the time............not tryin to change your mind at all but if I were you I would deff. take a little more time and find exactly what you want......after all he is your trophy and you will be the one lookin at him everyday......good luck and congrats on a great bow kill

Ok guys, he will be in a semi-sneak position with his head turned slightly right, I just your opinion on the ear position. I wanted his ears like my avatar, but the taxidermist said he will do the ears like I want, but doesn't think they will look good. Opinions?
