Help me spend my money on a completely new set up

Getting back in to bowhunting after a long layoff. Im a lefty, so keep that in mind. I need it all From bow to broadheads. What would YOU put me in?

I would like to keep everything less the arrows at the $1000-1200 mark.

Sooooo many options out there. Are you looking for something with a lot of speed or something a little "smoother" since you're just getting back into it?

I just got the Z7 and love it. I went to Nock and Loaded and got it done. I can't remember what all I got but I spent a little more than $1200.

broadheads: bloodrunners leave nice blood trails! and are the only expandables I will shoot. Muzzy's are old school, and just work plain and simple

Lighted Nocks: NOCKERNALS! nothing else! take it from a guy who has bought almost every other brand and they have failed miserably!

Arrows: dont care. I have 4 different brands and all shoot fine... plastic/feather fletching and length of fletching is a personal opinion. you can figure that out.

Bow: Go to a store, and shoot them, and decide which is best. I am shooting my 97' martin jaguar still. love it. smooth/quick/simple...

sights: Tru-glow extreme fs - or something like that. Love it! just bought it, and I am more than pleased.

Quiver: I hate the slide and lock ones. get a twist and lock...

Release: try em on. you have to wear it so whatever fits/suites you best...

Dont know what else to tell you...

Welcome back to the sport Jeff

most new, top end bows are running from $775 ~ $875 before taxes

IMO, you can get a heckuva bargain if you find a used, like new bow.

shoot all the brands and buy what feels best in your hands.

I just did some quick research and found several used LH Elite Archery bows over on AT.

These are 2009 - 2010 bows priced from $400 (bare bow) to $550 loaded ready to hunt... Z28 and GT500 models .

Elite bows include a Lifetime Warranty , regardless of owner.

here are some other recommendations on accessories

                G5 Expert II rest - $60 ... most rests are priced around $85 - $120
                Scott release - $65
                any quality sight YOU feel comfortable with - $ 75 ~ $100
                quiver - $ 35 - $100

                hope that helps brother

FYI - here's a picture of a 2010 Z28 decked out in AP snow camo

                here's a 2011 Pulse AT Snow Camo

I would but I have ZERO clue what draw length etc I need. If I could spare five freaking minutes these days I would drive to Archery Country, shoot a few then pull the trigger.

If I had to/got to do it all over again, I'd be giving those Elites some serious attention.

Jeff, you can get a smok'in deal on a nearly new, but used bow on archerytalk.com classifieds. There are many over there that think they have to have a new bow every three months and lose a ton of money in the process. If I were in your position, I doubt I'd buy something brand new, but that's just me. Just food for thought.....good luck!
