So I got permission for my wife to hunt a little cotton field adjacent to a draw in northwest Childress co out by Baylor lake during rifle season . Yesterday I threw out about 40lbs of corn in a big area 20' X 40' about 100 yds from draw. I'm here now to see if anything is coming in and thinking I might get a chance to stalk a mulie. The problem is. There isn't a keenal of corn nowhere to be found ! I don't think hogs cause the ground isn't just destroyed. Ice never had corn hammered like this in less than 24 hrs

I was sitting in the Cotton Field when I seen 4 bit WT does jump fence about 100yds to the East. I decided to back out and wait for my wife this weekend. I can't put up a feeder on this property, it's not protected by any means and tons of poachers in the area. I will hand corn tom. afternoon in 2 different spots about 125 yds out both North East and North West from our Train car that we will be laying on. Then again Friday afternoon before our last home game, and get out a little earlier than I wanted to hand corn a little Sat. Morn. I hope she gets a chance at a doe or two and who knows myabe by then a buck will come and check out what everyone is eating on !!!! wish us luck this weekend. My wifes first actual hunting experience !!!!

That reminds me of last season. I put out a deer block and it was gone in less than a week. I have never had that happen before. I was thinking the deer must really be hitting it hard and I got all excited and was going to put out two more. Well I was glad I checked the camera first because I had 12 coons on it every night. To say I was a little ****** would be an understatement. I really didn't want to run into any of them either knowing they were all jacked up on protein now. That's all I need is a muscled up coon with an attitude problem.
