My father invented a product and had them made to sell to the public. My first bit of advice is, if it is truly unique then you NEED to get a patent. That is the ONLY way you will really protect your idea.
I'm glad you asked this question A friend and I have a couple of ideas that we are going to start a patent search on then apply for a couple patents.
Our ideas are strictly bow related and i'll let you guys in on it first

Dang guys, I'm worried now that my gizmo is not worthy of the fanfare!
It's not that big of a deal, but I do believe it would be found in the "gear inventory" of 99% of outdoorsman. Working on a prototype and will put together a crew of constructive critics when it is ready.
