    Cool hunt.

Last Thursday evening I had to make myself go to my stand. The front was moving through and it had cooled off some but wind was gusting to 40+. Got there a late but didn't figure I'd see anything anyway. About 6:30 I saw a deer at about 75 yards where I have seen bucks making a scrape line. Closer inspection revealed that it was a spike, woohoo that's a shooter. He circled around me staying between 75 & 100 yards out showing no sign of coming to the feeder. I grunted at him twice and he stopped both times and looked but didn't change direction. I pulled out my doe bleat (the can) and hit it one time and I saw him make a move my direction but then lost sight of him. 30 seconds or so later I see him coming, no it's not him it's a young 8 point. The 8 point comes into my feeder pen, picks up 3 kernals of corn practically without stopping and exits the other side. I look back the direction he came from and in comes the spike. He comes to the right side of the pen but skirts around it to the far side without showing any real signs that he's going to stay for super. I'm starting to think he may not present a shot, all this is happening fairly quick. 5 yards shy of being out of my shooting lane, he stops and raises his head, don't know what caught his attention but luckily it wasn't me. I quickly adjusted my sight to 25 yards and settled my pin behind the shoulder. Didn't see ecactly where I hit but it sounded solid. 2 hours and a little over a hundred yards and I had my first deer in 2 years. Praise God and I love bowhunting.

To date I've never posted pics. I do have some though and I guess now might be a good time to try. Tomorrow.
