Moultrie Power Panel in a wooded area

I'm planning on hooking up a Moultrie Power Panel to my game camera this weekend to try and cut down on the amount of D batteries that I have to buy but my camera is set up in a wooded area. Has anyone put one of these power panels in a wooded location and if so, how did it work?

The area gets some sun through the trees but it will not get a whole lot of direct sunlight except for a while in the afternoon.

    Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure it's gonna work unless you can get a few hours of direct sunlight. But heck, give it a try. I have one on my I-40 but it's out in the open. So far so good. Only been using it a month or so.

I can promise you that it is not going to work if you don't put it in an open area where the sun can make direct with the panel most of the day (not just for a few hours). I run Power Panels on all my cameras and they work great, BUT you have to put them in the open where no shade is going to get in the way.

that is what I would reccomend for sure - one of the 6v or 12v battery packs that you can hook up to it.
