Is there a setting somewhere I can change to keep it from inserting periods in the middle of my sentences. I will be typing and look down and it will just randomly put a period and start a new sentence. Has anyone else had this happen. Also can you hit some key when you are trying to type a word but spell check is trying to change it so that you can ignore its choice.

You can try downloading a different keyboard. I use SwiftKey, which uses AI to guess your next word based on ALL the things you've ever typed. Also, by hitting space twice, it will insert a period to end the sentence.

Mine does that when I am typing some times, the only way I found to turn that off is to stop hitting the period button instead of the space bar. I was thinking there was a problem with my phone till I found it was me.

You are hitting the "." instead of the "space" button.

Thanks but I am not hitting the period button. I just don't know why it does it. It is almost like if I delay a second, it will insert the period.

My keyboard tries to guess the word and will insert it over what I typed. The only way I have found around it is once I figured out what word it doesn't like, I will not put a space in before the next word and it will leave it alone that way. I have the default keypad so maybe that is the problem???

If you choose one of the suggestive words, it puts a space after it automatically. If you hit the space bar again, it puts a period. I've done this a lot myself.

I don't want to hijack this thread but...Is there a way to keep apps from running on their own? I have an app killer and when I check it there are apps running that I never started. That's got to eat up battery life.

For the auto change thing on the words, after you type the word tha keeps changing, above the keypad it should be highlighted in red. Click that and it will save that word as a valid choice and wont change it again.

You could hit the microphone button on your keyboard and it will type what you say...
