Also I think they found one a couple years back on I 20 with no water for miles. I think they can travel a long way in search of food

Gator Tail is Delicious. And I sure wouldn't leave him there around the kids. I guy here in Hunt County had the same problem, called GW, he advised the same. Gator was eating baby calves, and threat to kids. He shot it. But if u shoot it out in the water, and all his air is lost, he will sink to bottom.
Keep us posted and good luck.

Pic was taken earlier this week. I haven't seen him yet, but am headed that way Saturday. Was planning on taking my son hunting over there Saturday, but the gator has now taken over the show! My kids can't wait to see it and I doubt after all the screams, etc that will ensue there will be any deer in the vacinity!

Ok, I'll be the sourpuss here - why shoot it if you can't do anything with it? Folks live with gators all the time & if every gator that showed up in a pond got shot, there wouldn't be many gators. I'd call the warden and ask if you can get an out of season nusiance tag, and go ahead and take it if so - good meat, cool trophy, cool story. Otherwise, wait for the spring season, and let the kids know not to play in the pond - I imagine if they all know there's a gator in there, they'll be scared outta going near it anyway. Plus, it's about to get cold, so the gator's likely to wander off to find a place to hibernate, and your kids aren't likely to be fishing in Dec anyway.

Not meaning to be critical, but it's nothing to get hysterical over and do something illegal, but certainly something to be careful with.

Boots nothin but boots belt -I'd love to see one at my spot. I'd get that pair of gator belly boots/belt combo in black and a pair in brown. Pumps/purse for the woman.

What time do I need to meet you at the catfish pond to help dispatch the critter?

And it was not all that long ago that I was swimming in that hole of water with Brayden bobbing around in his life jacket!!

yes...pm me, I tell you how to catch it if they (warden) says you can, I also have the name of a nusiance hunter, if you want him to do it.
