Murphy to Start for Vlad in Game 2

I think it's a good decision defensively, but I like having Vlad as a threat behind Hamilton in the lineup, even though he's had a pretty cold postseason.

SAN FRANCISCO -- Texas Rangers outfielder Vladimir Guerrero is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday.

Wow..Wash said just this morning that Vlad was staying in right field. I think it's a good call. Great chance to pinch hit off the bench as well

I hate it and love it at the same time. Like his bat, just not his defense.

I was undecided but after hearing Tom Grieve on the ticket I think its a bad move. Vlad was our top run producer during the year and is an emotional leader for the whole team (and even more so for the latin guys). I think you live and die with him in RF.

I think it's great news - for those who like Vlads BAT? Have you seen him over the last 3 weeks? WHAT BAT?

....and last night they died. It wasn't all him but he looked lost in right field.

Guys, dont forget they are playing in a NL ball park. LOTS of opportunities for him to come in as a pinch hitter, and stay in if the score/game situation allows for his weakness in the field.

ie. He could enter in the 4th or 5th inning as a pinch hitter and they can leave him in if the situation allows.

I think for one game it will be ok. Who knows he could have woke up today and his knees are killing him. For defense it is great to have Murph in.

This, and Murphy can hold his own at the plate.

Did you already forget about the go-ahead 2 run double he hit in game 6 against the Yankees? Joe Girardi was walking hamilton and Vladdy made him pay for it.

i am this way also. it is possible that Vladd went to Wash and told him to put Murphy in.

he may not be on fire, but the Giants still have to respect him for what he can do.
