    Tale of Woe!

Was in my stand near Wimberley this morning and had an 8 come in before the feeder spun, and then it spun and he departed (for at least 15 seconds). He came back and after he settled down and began eating, I tried to draw--he heard something and up popped his head. Waited him out and tried again with same result, and again, and the 4th time, I decided I'd go all the way to full draw, and he vacated the area. Came back after a doe and fawn came in and ran them off, then put his nose to the ground and chased mama who wanted nothing to do with him, and he soon lost interest and went over the ridge. Watched the two for another 45 minutes, cleaning up all the corn, and then they left. I hooked my bow onto the tether and was lowering it when the tether broke, about 6-7' from the ground, and I watched my bow fall and land on a limestone shelf--quiver popped off, but no other broken parts I could see.

Got down, and looked the bow over--a little marring on the top wheel but no apparent bending, and a big ding on the top limb, just above the limb bolt. I rolled it over to look at the side and saw 2 cracks in the limb--apparently separation of the laminations.

Checked with Fred at the Bow Shop in SA, and looks like it is about a 10day-2wk wait for limbs from Mathews--so, I'm in the market for another bow--LH, 27-28" draw, 50-60 lbs, or a set of limbs for a Mathews Outback. Just need something to get me through the next 2 weeks until I can get the Outback up and running again.
