    2 or 3???

Ok so this may be a dumb question... but what are the advantages and disadvantages of 2-blade broadheads compared to 3??? I almost never see 3-blade broadheads recommended... I realize most 2-blades have a larger cutting diameter, but is there any other reason??? are there any advantages to 3-blade broadheads??? just something I have been wondering... also if anyone has any input on 3-blade bloodrunners I would appreciate it... haven't really heard much about them

The 2 blades usually fly better unless you can align your fletchings with the blades of your 3 blades. I use bloodrunner 2 blades. I shot the practice head and it flew just like my field points. the only problem is it made a whiffle sound but i dont think the deer would have enough time to react.

I shot a 3 blade Rage 3 years ago and never aligned the "blades" to "vanes". Still hit were I aimed and left a blood trail Ray Charles could follow in the dark!!
I followed her blood trail at dark and I'm blind too...

my 3 blade G5 Strikers fly like my field point out to 60 yds. My 3 blade G5 Montech fly like field points out to 40, not sure about any further haven't shot them past 40 yet.

I get them as close as I can to line up with the fletching and they do just fine, makes no difference with these head at 30 yds if they are alined with fletching or not.

two blades have to be installed parallel with the bow. three blades dont matter. two blades installed "flat" tend to rise during the shot. at least thats my experience.

You do NOT have to align anything with anything. Fixed or mechanical it does not matter. 3 blade BHs have mostly gone to the way side because people learned that you get more cutting surface area with an extra blade. A lot of the expandable BHs are 3 blades, but the slider/rear open style tend to be 2 blades, because the mechanics is easier to work out.

I have found that the more parallel the limbs on a bow the better it shoots 4 blade BHs, or ANY mechanical BH. 2 or 3 blade styles.

2 blades will have better pentration than 3 blades or multi-blade broadheads...

I have been shooting three blade 100 gr Muzzy's for years and have never had them fail me. I have no reason what so ever to even think about changing to a different broad head. There are a ton of high quality broadheads on the market, both 2, 3 and 4 bladed that are all equally as good as the other. Kinda like being a Ford or Chevy guy. You like them for a reason. Most important thing is that you shoot what ya like and be confident in what ya shoot. Just my thoughts.

My 3 & 4 blade Muzzy's pass through like everything else. How much penetration do you want?

thanks guys... all that pretty much is logical... so is there any advantage that the 3rd blade provides that makes up for the loss of diameter??? and any scouting reports on the 3-blade bloodrunners???
